WORKFORCE

Develop your workforce...

This week you need to think about supporting your Health Champion with their learning whilst ensuring you have the assessment planned, requested, completed and returned for marking by the RPSH. Continue to gather evidence in your portfolio and coach your team on engaging with the public around their health.

Well done for getting this far, you are nearly there! If you need any more specific support or you are struggling in a particular area connect with us and we'll support you personally.

Key actions this week:

1. Support your Health Champion through to their assessment. This must be done under exam conditions so plan to do it when both the invigilator and candidate can be together uninterrupted for up to 45 minutes

2. If you have used our Health Champion programme then you must now request the invigilation pack which includes the formal assessment which, once completed, should be returned to us

3. Continue to gather evidence in your portfolio

Engage your community...

Just two weeks to go on our HLP Countdown and hopefully you are well on track to achieving all the HLP quality criteria ready to self-declare. This week you need to think about two key areas - your community engagement plan and taking a close look at your pharmacy environment.

If you need any more specific support with any of the areas covered so far or you are struggling in a particular area connect with us.

Key actions this week:

2. Take photographs and gather feedback during your event(s) and record as evidence in your portfolio

3. Look at your pharmacy from the outside in through the eyes of your customers

DECLARATION

Review and make your declaration...

We've really enjoyed sharing your journey towards becoming an HLP and supporting you to arrive at this, the final week. Now is when you finally make your declaration with the RSPH. This has to be done and confirmed by RSPH before claiming your HLP payment within the Quality Scheme.

Please remember that when you have achieved HLP status, it is the start of a new healthier future for your pharmacy, one in which you can have a long term impact on the health and wellbeing of your community. It is something to continue to build on and an achievement to be proud of.

Let us know when you have achieved HLP status either by e-mail or on social media; we would love to hear about your success.

Key actions this week:

1. Review and collate your evidence

2. Visit the RSPH website and go through parts 1, 2 and 3 to make your declaration

3. Include a short description of the evidence you have collated

4. Make sure the pharmacist making the declaration enters their correct GPhC number and e-mail address to avoid any delay

5. When you have confirmation of HLP accreditation from the RSPH (this can take up to 2 weeks) then you can claim your Quality Scheme payment from NHS England at the appropriate time

6. Celebrate the achievement and think about how you can sustain and develop your work to deliver ongoing benefits to for both your community and your pharmacy
